Technology is driving the delivery of all levels of health care to a more digital, automated platform, which then provides opportunities to provide clinical services to the 20% of Americans living in rural or highly rural areas. Ideally, telehealth technologies could offer an alternative to care, thus improving access to specialty care for those living in rural areas. We will explore if the business, technical and clinical requirements impede a telemedicine program from improving outcomes through expanded access to care.
